Just an Update

I just finished typing this email update for my Great Aunt Fay who sends out our Lunceford Family Newsletter around conference every year. I thought, "This would be good to put on my blog!" So here it is! Edited and pictures added of course!

As we sit and watch conference this year it is interesting as our little ones are getting bigger and older and sitting still a little bit longer, or at least I'm getting to sit still longer! I might just get the afghan finished that I started two years ago during the April conference!

Nothing much is different this year as we come into the spring. My husband is attending school! He is joining the ranks of the educated through the Pathway Program at BYU-Idaho. He will graduate in about 5 years with a bachelor's degree in business management with an emphasis in supply chain management. This has been quite the adjustment for me. I really enjoy watching him play with our children as I unwind from my busy mommy day. He has been doing well and will finish up his first class next week, prayers are of course welcome.

Elise, our eldest, is 11 and in the 5th grade. She's enjoying 4-H sewing and horsemanship classes. We haven't purchased her her own horse as of yet, but we have many nice neighbors that are needing their horses cared for and exercised. We are hoping Tilley, the mare down the street, will work for her. She has enjoyed helping her Uncle Spencer Wight with the calving again this year in his herd. We are still awaiting two more. She even helped with castrating two of the three bull calves yesterday. The third is a very well bred and colored "Oreo". He will be sold to a neighbor hopefully so we can watch his gene pool grow. He really is a good looking calf! And she didn't seem bothered by it at all. I am looking forward to spending this summer with her. It is getting harder and harder to send her off to school each day as she is being more helpful and more friendly for me. I'm sure by September our tunes could change!

McKenna is 4, and LOVES preschool, tracing letters & numbers, running, jumping, shouting, pretending to be a horse, pushing her sisters, and teasing our dog. I am ever grateful to that dog for not eating her! She is a constant reminder of myself. We look just almost exactly the same, and I, too, teased the dog, only I have a scar to prove it!

Morgan will turn 3 this year. She is excited to join preschool with Kenna in the fall, but for now, she's super excited about the made-up organization "pink 4-H". She and Kenna will enjoy whatever they can. She seriously enjoys jumping. Off furniture, from object to object, on the trampoline, while I'm trying to feed her with a fork, in her bed, out of her bed, out of the truck, out of the car.... you get the picture. I'm afraid we'll need to start a fund for broken bones for this one, but so far, no broken bones.

Blue, will turn 7 this summer. I love my dog, almost as much as my kids. She has finally been allowed into the house and is SO SUPER GOOD with the girls. She is great at counter surfing and sleeping. I think she may have actually calmed down finally. Maybe I can keep up with her on a jog this summer.

We are planning on staying in Eden until it turns into Park City. Which is quite alarming to a lot of our neighbors. It is hard to watch the once rural neighborhood be taken over by other people with outside influences and ideas. Enjoy your summer!!!
