Well, I finally got Elise on the bus for her first day of school in the first grade. Since we didn't know what time the bus would come, we got ready very early and waited for the bus for 45 minutes!! I am so glad that I'll be able to sleep in a bit longer tomorrow, now that I know what time the bus will get here. She's got short days the first three days this week, then full days following. Elise is quite nervous. She said her stomach hurt. My stomach always hurt for the first day of school, even through college. I couldn't eat breakfast and I was terribly nervous, but by day 2 I was over it. I am guessing she is just like I was, except she ate breakfast just fine!! She looked really cute. I will get pics of her when she gets home and post them. She has brand new High School Musical shoes, cute blue jeans with pink butterfly's embroidered on them, and a great new haircut courtesy of a joint effort between the two of us. She chose to wear her Ogden Marathon shirt though, which is a play shirt. She figures she is going to play at recess, so she can get it dirty. I know she's so excited to see her friends. She doesn't have very many in her class that were either in her class in Kindergarten or in her Primary class.
Well, that is enough for now I guess. I'll add the pics later. I'm excited for Elise though. Blue even waited with us. OH, her bus that picks her up in the morning, has some pretty darkly tinted windows!! I thought that was really good. And her bus driver seems nice. It isn't that ditzy lady that forgot her every time she drove as a substitute for our favorite driver! She'll get a snowball from me if she forgets her again ever and that is a promise.
Hope ya'll enjoy your "first" days!! ~vicki

Do you love all day school now. Braden was so excited for school to start. I bet she loves 1st grade. They grow way too fast. Call me sometime.
Sounds like Elise had a great first morning. I'd throw snowballs at the bus driver with you too if she forgets your daughter! :)
I am glad you like Toby Keith, by the way. I like him too - he was just the first country music/truck driving person who came into my mind when I made my unkind and probably unfounded judgment. :)
Can't wait to see Elise's cute pictures!
I remember that feeling as well, going to school with the first day jitters. Might I suggest reading her "The First Day Jitters" by Julie Danneberg. It's a great way to help kids understand that it being nervous is common! Anyway, I hope your conference went well and I missed seeing you at that reunion! Keep in touch!
